Following the Prime Ministers announcement on Monday evening and after much consideration, we have taken the decision to suspend all collection services until further notice.
This was not an easy decision to make, especially with confusion in our
industry surrounding 'waste collections' as key services. However, in these
unprecedented times, the safety and wellbeing of our customers and colleagues
had to take priority. We will always remain advocates of the importance of
secure, confidential waste services but we must be mindful of our
colleagues with family members in high risk categories. We are limited in the
precautions we can take to protect these members of staff while continuing to
make collections in a way that is safe and also guarantees the security of
customers' data.
We've listened to our customers over the last few days, and many of you have
already closed offices and sites, or plan to do so shortly. A compounding factor
in our decision to suspend collections is that to send our trucks and
operatives out to the few customers that remain open is simply no longer
sustainable. We are asking those customers who remain open to understand that
our decision to suspend collections is also to protect our business and the
employment of our staff, so that we can continue to work with you and provide
our services in the years to come.
We do understand that for a few of our customers, our decision to suspend
collections may cause you a problem, if this is the case, we're here to listen
and help however we can. If possible, we recommend using any spare security
sacks you have, or alternatively, using black sacks for excess confidential
waste and securing them well. Please store your confidential waste in a safe
please and we will be happy to collect any extra you have when collections
resume. We do have a reduced number of staff working from home who will do all
they can to help. Please call our office number 0114 2518141 or email info@russellrichardson.co.uk
to discuss options.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank
you for your understanding and co-operation during these unprecedented times
and wish you, your loved ones and colleagues well.
