Founded in 1865 Cargill is an international producer and marketer of food, agricultural, financial and industrial products and services. It employs 142,000 people in 65 countries and helps customers succeed through collaboration and innovation by sharing its global knowledge to help meet economic, environmental and social challenges.
Environmentally aware, Cargill values the confidentiality of its customer’s information and works hard to protect it. A clear desk policy along with a focused approach to the secure destruction of private and confidential information required the procurement of a trusted shredding supplier.
Following a review of its existing shredding procedures Cargill appointed Russell Richardson & Sons as their preferred contractor.
A number of lockable consoles were installed throughout Cargill’s offices and a scheduled collection service was implemented. One of Cargill’s requests was that they wanted the shredding consoles emptied and the paper shredded before the majority of staff arrived on site. To accommodate this Russell Richardson arrives at 5.00am and are just leaving as the first office staff arrive at 7.00am.
Cargill were also keen to reduce their carbon footprint so Russell Richardson implanted a tailored reporting scheme and within three months were able to help Cargill reduce their carbon footprint by 3.9 tonnes.
Karen Baxter, office services manager at Cargill commented
"Working with Russell Richardson has been a pleasure. We have found their approach to delivering a quality service combined with value for money is second to none.
Furthermore, the level of reporting is unrivalled, with destruction certificates, paperwork for audit trail purposes and environmental performance figures being of enormous help with our internal reporting. The focused approach that Russell Richardson takes has allowed us to monitor the service, make continual improvements and realise genuine savings"
