Thank you for making 2016 such a great one for us at Russell Richardson

rr-xmas-pudding-new-2015With Christmas fast approaching and 2016 coming to a close, we have been taking some time to reflect on all the things that have been happening at Russell Richardson over the past 12 months.

Russell Richardson 2016 overview:

  • This Christmas we wish a fond farewell to our friend and colleague Colin Ashton following his decision to take early retirement. Colin has been with Russell Richardson for the last 10 years and in the shredding industry for much longer. While we will miss Colin’s wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and dry sense of humour, we all wish him a very long, happy and healthy retirement.
  • The RR team has continued to develop and grow with Lee Buttle joining the company in March as telesales team leader and Kellymarie Wilsher-O’Keefe joining us as credit controller in May. After coming to us as a temporary service operative, Daryl Hellewell is now a permanent member of the operations team. More recently, Nicky has made the move from operations manager to sales manager in preparation for Colin’s retirement. Jonathan will be taking the operations manager’s hotdesk, with Kirsty in the wing as assistant operations manager.
  • In June we welcomed back Lyndsay from her maternity leave (much to the relief of Kelly who did a great job covering both her own and Lyndsay’s role for 9 months). Lyndsay is now back visiting customers and running the customer services department.
  • During 2016 we launched our Small Business Shredding Service; a shredding solution for organisations that don’t produce large quantities of confidential waste but are still keen to stay safe and compliant. This service has been really well received and we now have customers from a vast range of sectors using the monthly sack service.
  • Towards the end of 2015 we added document archiving and records management to our portfolio of services. During 2016 we’ve really seen this area of business grow and develop. Our clients now have access to our bespoke customer portal where they can view file locations and easily request retrievals and destruction.
  • With the rapid growth of the archiving side of the business, we decided to expand and invest in a second site dedicated to archiving. Close to our shredding site and main office, the Waleswood facility is fully secured, with a state of the art security system and racking. With Waleswood filling up quickly, watch this space for further Russell Richardson sites opening in 2017!
  • Our charity work has continued throughout 2016 with a record fundraising year for Russell Richardson. We have shredded our 2016 target of £3,000 and have raised a whopping £3,532 for our chosen charities. A big THANKYOU to everyone who has supported our charity shredding and other fundraising efforts this year.

Thank you to all our customers, suppliers and partners who have helped make 2016 another successful and productive year for Russell Richardson. We look forward to working with you all again in 2017.
